The China Carbon Black Institute (CCBI) received accreditation by state authorities.

CCBI boasts of grade A qualification certificate of engineering design and consultation, grade B qualification certificate of environmental engineering design, as well as rights for foreign economic cooperation and trade.

CCBI enjoys strength in engineering design and special equipment development to undertake general contracting of carbon black projects at home and abroad.

It is the first unit granted with certification of the integrated management system of quality, environment and occupational health in the domestic carbon black sector.

The Carbon Black Branch of Rubber Institute, Chemical Industry and Engineering Society of China (CIESE) and Carbon Black Sub-Station of National Information Station of Rubber Industry are subsidiaries of CCBI.

CCBI has more than 100 scientific research payoffs, including more than 50 scientific & technical awards at state, ministry and provincial levels, 46 authorized patents and three special technologies. The new process for carbon black production won second prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award three times.

CCBI provides various carbon black special equipment, carbon black analytical instruments, standard substances and rubber products.

CCBI consists of three scientific research teams:

Research institute for special materials: focusing on R&D of material techniques and applications for material synthesis and performance study.

The technical institute for standardization and testing is a comprehensive research and consulting institute, including the study of carbon black standardization, quality inspection and arbitration of carbon black/silica products, manufacture of carbon black analytical instruments, as well as R&D and production of standard carbon black substances. The secretariat of Carbon Black Sub-technical Committee of the National Technical Committee for Standardization of Rubber and Rubber Products is subordinate to the institute. It is the National Carbon Black Quality Supervision & Inspection Center accredited by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, the national metrology accreditation unit and Carbon Black Quality Supervision & Inspection Center accredited by the China Petroleum & Chemical Industry Federation.

Research institute for techniques and equipment focuses on research of new technology, new equipment and the integrated electromechanical technology in carbon black industry as well as application of carbon black technologies.
